Description of Dragon Well



This is a rare Dragon Well with strongest Chaqi from an abandoned tea field for over 30 years. It is directly purchased from the local tea farmer in the high mountain over 1300 meters high; During the tea-picking days, our pickers need to get up at around 3 AM in early morning and walk around 2.5 hours mountain road to this abandoned tea field; The tea bushes are wild-growing too tall, with average over 1.5 meters high; for some extremely high, the pickers have to cut down some branches to pluck the buds.



Picked only one time per year and never cut down the branches, plus the natural good environment, this wild-growing Dragon Well enjoys the strongest Chaqi among other dragon well, which can also be told by its big, fat buds than others. This Dragon Well has a strong chestnut aroma mixed with ligh orchid fragrance. Thick but delicate tea taste with rich mouth feeling after sipping the tea liquid.


During Dragon Well's two making process, Sha Qing(killing the enzyme), and Huo Guo(making the shape and taste), it requires to put little tea wax on the wok to conduct the two process to avoid the tea leaves getting burnt.

About Longjing




Longjing, also known as Dragon Well tea is a well-known pan-roasted variety of green tea. The name Longjing comes from a literal translation and the other name stems from the Longjing village in Zhejiang Province in China. 

When speaking of pan-roasting, you should note that this is literally a method that has been used for centuries by tea masters and it involves flattening the leaves along the inside vein and frying them in a wok. This method serves a dual purpose as it stops the oxidation process that naturally occurs after picking, but it also gives a toasty aroma with a hint of the sweet taste you might find eating a roasted corn. The unique and rounded flavor coupled with a sort of buttery texture make this team really popular among green team enthusiasts and regular consumers alike.

As is the case with many types of tea hailing from this part of the world, Longjing is rich in amino acids, vitamin C, and catechins. For those of you unfamiliar with catechins, you should know that those compounds are naturally occurring antioxidants belonging to the flavonoids family. We will touch on the importance of those later.


Ingredients and Effects



For inexperienced tea drinkers, it should be clarified what are the usual ingredients of green teas in general:

A single cup of Longjing contains less than a quarter the amount of caffeine found in a similarly sized cup of coffee. For those looking to get exact numbers, a cup of Longjing  contains between 15-25 mg of caffeine. This means that it can be safely used even just before the bedtime without the fear of affecting your sleep patterns. Catechins are what makes green tea in general beneficial to your health. For centuries, these naturally occurring compounds were thought to be useful for treating cardiovascular issues and promote general well-being. Although the specifics are not yet unequivocally proven by scientists, the chemical family these compounds belong to (flavonoids) are known to help maintain a proper dilation of blood vessels contributing to normal blood flow. Other effects have been reported, one of them claiming to have a positive effect on cholesterol.
